The Allure of the Concentric. 1985.

Three small dead trees suspended above a reflecting pool recall the "axis mundi" of archaic mythologies. Water droplets falling periodically onto the pool break its surface, creating concentric circles that transform it from an abyss into a source, metaphorically calling forth the archetypal landscapes of the mountain, the desert, and the forest, as seen on the surrounding monitors.

Overall dimensions: 30 x 36 feet. Four synchronized videos, 4:45 min continuous play, color, sound.
