Phantom Cities. 1990.

An improbable miniature city composed of architectural elements taken from two diverse regions, contemporary New York and the Mexican and Guatemalan sites of the Maya, is surrounded by jagged fragments of burnt walls, dead trees, and video monitors suspended among them. Fragmentary images of fictionalized cities, derived from these elements, play on the monitors.

Overall dimensions: 33 x 33 feet. Three synchronized videos, 24:00 min continuous play, color, sound.
